Me Online vs. Offline

Even though I’m the same person, on and offline, there are still some differences from when I express myself online than in real life. Online, I might present myself more formally and in a more detailed way, because when I’m online I want to communicate in a sense that people can still get to know me well from the other side of the screen. However, when I’m offline and introducing myself to new people in real life, I’m probably more down to earth and get to know through a one on one friendly conversation. I try to really make sure people can understand the real me online by really explaining opinions and thoughts, whereas offline new students and peers can easily get to know a little bit more about me through my appearance.

  1. Ella,
I think this a really good post, and I really think the information is true. I agree with you about how it is harder to show your personality online than offline.

  2. Ella, I agree, I try to express myself the same way online as well as offline. I am also a bit more formal online when addressing myself or a subject.
